Everything I paint comes out of my imagination. I want to see a painting appear before my eyes, and I want it to communicate with the imaginations of others.

Something—a color, shape, mark—sparks a deep memory of the deep joy of childish curiosity, the fascination of observing the world. Sometimes a touch of pain, or fear, or a sense of danger comes round. These sparks, like a trail of breadcrumbs, lead me on into the painting, connecting me to a larger world that contains myths, legends, stories…I cannot tell them all, there are not words enough, but there is light in the paint and it illuminates, shows the way back. The paintings are maps of my imagination, and I want them to show you the way to your own.
